Superbowl Media Coverage

The Superbowl is an American tradition that has been going on for years, but what does this American tradition mean. The Superbowl bring outs people of all different cultures, religions, ethnicity's, beliefs and interests. You'll find moms, dads, brother sisters, friends, religious figures, and even the very young and very old cheering like crazy. As someone who does not follow football on a regular basis i find myself getting just as hyped up as the football fanatics. Superbowl gatherings are a way for people to get together, eat chicken wings and scream endlessly at the television. Maybe if I yell loud enough the players will hear me and run faster to the goal post. The game was covered by NBC news and had numerous entertainment along with the playing. Commerical's are held and then viewed for the first time during breaks and these are the best commercials of the year. It can cost millions just to get a 30 second commercial on Superbowl Sunday. Some can even be viewed in 3D! What does this mean to a culture of Americans? The half time show has to be the creme of the crop performers and so if you are on the Superbowl you know your important American idols.

Mediums are life changing_cell phones

The cell phone has had the most impact on my life, without I would be lost. I don't think i have ever turned it off intentionally. Since the cell phone has entered my life I can communicate with people anytime I want no matter where I am, that is if there is cell service, and when there isn't it's just mass panic. Cell phones aren't only great to stay in touch with friends and family, but are also helpful in emergencies. What if you have a flat tire, without my cell phone I would just have to sit on the side of the road until some trusting non rapist or kidnapper decided to stop! My cell phone also hold music so i can just plug in my headphones and leave the world around me for a bit if i want. It's how my boss contacts me, she doesn't even call, she actually text messages me which I found a bit frightening at first but then figured that it was much better! Another thing about text is that if you don't want to talk to the person whose text ed you, you can simply not answer. whenever people call that I don't want to talk to, I try and hit the F U button, which most people can always tell you've done and usually get the hint. all in all without cell phones i would have a mental breakdown, it's hard enough to sit in class to an hour and half without, I couldn't imagine a lifetime without one!
